Since her childhood, Daria dreamed of traveling the world. The Grand Canyon was always the first place she wanted to visit. When she was accepted as a YEAR Participant at Black Hills State University, it was a receive a great education and make her dream comes true.

Daria and her friends, Alexandra Bolotina and Sofia Borovikova, planned a 17-hour bus trip and visited the Grand Canyon, Antelope Canyon, and nearby Horseshoe bend. Unique landscapes and amazing displays of American nature was beyond magical.
“When I saw the Grand Canyon for the first time, I was crying. To see that beauty was unbelievable”, said Daria.
Daria and her friends also experienced the historic Route 66, which was established in 1926 and became known as the “Main Street of America.” After their incredible tour, they had two days to explore the famous city Las Vegas.
“The desert weather is very hot and there are long distances between buildings. We woke up at 7am and made sure to visit the famous Las Vegas sign. There was already a long line, but we managed to take a nice photo”, Daria told.
In two short days they visited all the main places of the city and even Cirque du Soleil. The show took them on a tour through Michael Jackson’s discography.
“Michael Jackson is my favorite singer. I was the happiest person at that moment because I know all Jackson’s song by heart,” Daria said.
